Created in partnership with Escape Studios, Summer of Unreal is made for European animators and CG artists who want to kickstart a new phase of their business or career with real-time animation, a skill that is growing more important by the day. And with over 1,000 spots available, we’ll be able to put a lot of people on the path. The best part is it’s free!

There are only two rules. All participants have to be working professionals in the animation industry or in a role associated with it (VFX, motion graphics, film/TV types—we’re looking at you). And you have to commit to the four weeks. This course is also open to tutors and educators. Priority will be given for higher education, but applications from further education will also be considered.

The good part is that all of the classes are online and mostly set up in the morning, so while you’ll be learning/working with your team every day, you’ll still have time for personal commitments in the afternoon. You also don’t need to have any experience with Unreal Engine, just some working knowledge of 3D software. Escape will do the rest—taking you from foundational concepts up to realistic digital humans.

This program includes:

  • 20 days of Unreal Engine training across areas such as previsualisation, layout, rigging, animation, modeling, and lighting
  • Project breakdowns with studios/professors from across Europe
  • Portfolio projects
  • Networking with other artists
  • Exclusive badges
  • And more!

The bootcamp runs July 26 – August 20, but applications are open now.
