Intro

Hey there! Welcome to this week’s roundup of the YouTube, where we covered two expansion mods going back to classics and a surrealist adventure indie!

C&C3, considered by some to be the last good entry in the mainline series, made a splash in modding, and today, remains a favourite – so it was for the creator of Tiberium Dusk, a total overhaul that includes music, units, and systems inherited from earlier C&C games to bring the old back into the new and push forwards a new legacy for this classic RTS series.

The Mensional is a puzzle-platformer adventure game where the lead character finds a time machine, transporting them into an unfamiliar realm of time distortions outside of their control. The only way out is to restart the machine and commence once more the normal flow of time.

In the wake of an unsuccessful Dawn of War III, fans revisited the first and second games of the series instead with modding to try and make the revival they wanted. Dawn of War II Eternal hopes to marry the joint influences of its predecessor and Dawn of War II’s inspirations, complete with faction overhauls and new subfactions that create a new way to wage war.

That’s all for this round-up. Here I wanted to leave a small note as this will be the last editorial I’ve written (in order, there’s another one coming out later this week) for DBolical. I’m going on to an exciting new role, but working for ModDB & IndieDB with the talented creator community has been immensely rewarding as a modder myself. The modding won’t stop, and neither will my time here in this awesome community, but I’ll be stepping down as a shepherd, and instead, becoming a participant once more. Thanks for the last two years and I wish everyone the best of luck with their projects!
