Intro

Hey there! Welcome to this week’s roundup of the YouTube, where we covered a long-running total conversion and a recently released Steam sourcemod!

Gordon’s escapades are a common setting for Half-Life 2 mods, but what we’ve also seen on occasion is those putting you into the everyman position of a rebel – such as in Evacuation. Pinned down and far away from your colleagues, and with no G-Man in your back pocket, Evacuation has you fighting Combine through the woods with gameplay and visual upgrades to boot.

Spend a Night at the Gates of Hell, if you dare – this PS1 horror indie’s not for the faint of heart. It competently channels all the eerie horror of the retro period whilst bringing to bear a cheesy horror-flick that’ll have you chuckling one moment and running for your life the next.

Battlefield 2 is one of those games that it seemed everyone was making a mod for at one point, and whilst it hasn’t quite had the modding staying power of some other older games, the mods certainly did. Forgotten Hope 2 – never forgotten and always remembered – chugs along to this day, and revisiting a mod that has had fifteen years of updates is a worthy venture for any FPS fan.
