HI Itch.io world,

This is my first ever post in and experience of the itch.io community.
I am a freelance mural and street artist turned beginner indie game developer and I’ve just posted a game that I’ve been working on around the clock for the last 4 months of my life. I was motivated to create the game because of the impacts that COVID has had on my ability to teach piano privately to my young cousin.

It’s a VERY visually-based learning adventure game centred around piano and classical music theory. It started as a tool for music teaching and has kind of snowballed into something a lot bigger, like a kind of reference for musical notation, symbols, vocabulary and more.
There’s just so much that I’m looking forward to doing with this going ahead.
I’ve spent a total of 26 days in accumulative screen hours working on the art, music and gameplay for this so I’m very tenderly awaiting some feedback as I put it out into the world for the first time. I have had my fair share of rewarding commissions in the ‘real world’ as well as a few game art commissions, but I’m at the beginning of my story in terms of being able to wrap my head around what is possible now with games. I’m probably going to be adapting and developing this particular game for the rest of my life.

The style I’m trying to emulate is old school, 90’s nostalgic primary school computer games. Before the internet was fully up and running, and now only distant memories of abandonware. I already get to see a very young student using the game weekly, if this can give them anything like the feeling that those old games give me now, I will have succeeded with the game. Better yet, if they can play piano, or even guitar or saxophone or flute… and this had anything to do with it, awesome.

I would love it if you could check out my artwork for the game or watch the gameplay trailer I made.
It would mean the UNIVERSE to me to have itch.io users purchase and using this and engaged in a forum, making suggestions as well as being able to test it weekly with my own piano students.

So far I am so impressed by itch.io especially its project page features, it was such a nice, clean way to package up this passion project.
